Artist: Various Artists
Title: Om Lounge (15 Year Anniversary Edition)
Label: Om Records
Genre: Soul/Electronica/Downtempo
Most celebrations include music in its revelry, so of course it would be no different for a record label celebrating its 15 year career. Om Lounge, however, is bringing the music to you for its soiree; a 15 track collection of various artists that personify the Om sound. This compilation is great for veterans and newcomers alike to the Om brand as it showcases familiar artists and introduces you to others that exhibit their hallmark “future sound”.
Om Lounge (15 Year Anniversary Edition) includes 15 artists with each one bringing a different style to the table. The list of contributors contains well known artists as well as artists that may be considered newcomers to some listeners. Some of the familiar artists, such as Lisa Shaw present extended mixes (”Inside My Love”) while others like Kissey Asplund share great, new compositions. You’ll be equally delighted to get turned on to soulful house from Ivan Enot (”Grooves of the Heart”) and Gelka’s lounge dub, “Rasta Baby.”
The compilation runs the gamut of tempo to satisfy whatever mood you’re in. If you just feel like chilling out and relaxing, Om Lounge give you the downtempo chill of Bombay Bicycle Club’s acoustic, “You Already Know.” For those that need a few more drinks before they get their boogie on, there’s the midtempo L.A. Funk of the Hue Remix Edit of Rithma’s “Map Point Baby.” Last but not least, they’ve got the dancefloor covered with the uptempo groove of Home and Garden featuring Lisa Shaw on “Someday.”
Being in business for 15 years is a stretch for any company. Om continues to do it with much style, class and great music. Thank you Om for the music over the years and thank you for Om Lounge (15 Year Anniversary Edition). Pick up your copy now and join the celebration!
