Dave Seaman – Renaissance Master Series 14

daveseemanArtist: Dave Seaman
Title: Renaissance: The Masters Series Part 14
Label: Renaissance
Genre:Electronica/House/Techno

The Oxford dictionary defines classism as pertaining to the highest order of excellence in the arts. Implicit in the classical attitude is also a notion of supreme distinction. Enter Dave Seaman – pioneering second generation DJ a most ‘capped´ player to handle the honors for the 14th volume in the prestigious Masters Series.

The secret behind the success is actually quite apparent. His incredible depth of experience remains as meticulous as ever in his track selection, incredible ear for harmonic mixing and natural feel for programming. His latest chapter in the Masters Series finds him in a rich vein of form as he draws upon the scene’s best talent. As ever, the unique bag of editing, additional production and FX has been expertly woven throughout the mix.

Disc One treads along a more eclectic path taking in Four Tet, Ben Watt, South African Culoe De Song, Moby and Spooky before culminating in Dave’s own twist on Ewan Pearson’s lauded re-work of Jon Hopkins blissful anthem “Light Through The Veins.”

Disc Two intros with UNKLE’s “Hold My Hand” (Innervisions Orchestra Dub Mix) and takes more of a peak-time high road, picking-up hitchhikers in the form of Guy J, Agoria, Radio Slave and Nic Fanciulli before bundling them all out to make way for the heavy hitting finale of Gui Boratto’s Adam Freeland remix.

The one thing I have always admired about the Renaissance Masters is the fact that they very rarely, or should I say they never let you down & I think it’s safe to say that Dave Seaman’s new Masters series is one of them. The beats are gracefully & well blended by the DJ master.
