Nu-Soul: I read that due to the limited resources that you had, you both had to get creative during recording. Can you tell me about some of the techniques that you used.
Minnis: I have a small two-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn and one room is my studio. Buy Phenergan, So basically, we had to turn a negative into a positive. I melded my hip-hop production techniques with live instrumentation. For the saxophone overdub on “Legacy”-I would have loved to have rented out a nice studio and get a horn section-but I only had a ninety dollar microphone. I wrote out the parts and layered each part of the saxophone so at the end it sounded like a full horn section.

Nu-Soul: Are there any plans to tour.
Minnis: There are no immediate plans right now but it‘s something that‘s on the horizon. I’m in the process of mixing my newest project and once that’s done we both want to get together with some other musicians to help us record and perform all of the music as part of a conglomerate.
