Artist: Home & Garden
Title: Domesticated
Label: Om Records
Genre: Soul/Electronica
The duo of Tim Kvasnosky and Timothy Shumaker or Home & Garden make dance music that fuses classic disco, soul, and electronica into pop friendly morsels. The pair have landed their fair share of #1 Billboard hits working with artists such as Lucy Woodard, Colette, Esthero, and Debi Nova. For their album Domesticated the duo round up an eclectic assortment of recognized and up and coming vocalists to create their elegant sonic environments. The resulting album comes off as a modern spin on the days of disco.
Domesticated is the perfect example of the Om Records sound: funky, soulful beats with great songwriting and vocalists. Home & Garden round up a nice roster of talent to accompany their luxurious beats including labelmate Colette (“All The Same”) and famed DJ Derrick Carter (“Domesticated”). Lisa Shaw lends her talents to two tracks including the exceptionally gorgeous “Someday” with its subtle perfections. Soul man Russell Taylor turns up on the album closer “Braille” a seductive track that is an outstanding mood creator. And that is what Home & Garden do. They create atmospheres and alternate dimensions with their music. Domesticated is filled with a variety of soundtracks for all sorts of activities from cleaning the house to making love. Home & Garden truly have the downtempo market cornered.
