Title: Soul Vibrations
Label: Om Records
Genre: Soul/Electronica/Hip-Hop
Back on the scene and once again, serving up some of the most delectably tasty down-tempo is Om Records-own J-Boogie’s Dubtronic Science. The latest release, Soul Vibrations, is a funky mash up of hip hop and soul, dubbed out with great collaborations from a slew of artists on the underground music scene.
Since his self-titled debut album in 2003, J-Boogie has always brought his brand of scorching beats, funk and electronic sounds. However, he is also one for introducing talented emcees and vocalists. San Francisco rapper, Lyrics Born, cuts loose with his positive vibe on “Revolution” along with The Mamaz. While the pleading “For Your Love” features Zumbi of Zion I out of Atlanta and Om artist, Rithma; sultry vocalist Jennifer Johns showcases her skills on “Together.” And “Leave It All Behind” brings one-half of the The Mamaz, Chicago-born, Maui-raised emcee Aima the Dreamer to the scene. Soul Vibrations also includes classic cuts from Rich Medina, Tim’m West, Crown City Rockers, The Rebirth and Lunar Heights. This is the perfect soundtrack for writing poetry or simply lounging around all day.
